Map+ is an application that enables you to make your own maps and position pins and icons on your maps. Notes, photos and contact details can be saved to pins.
Main features of Map+
・Save information on pins
Notes, photos and contact details can be saved. It is possible to save multiple photos.
・Categorize pins
Create categories and you can freely categorize things.
・Icons displayed on maps
Icons/images displayed on maps can be configured for each category.
・Add pins from contact addresses
Add a pin by selecting a contact address. You can add pins from all contacts at once.
・Display pins in list format
Pins that have been positioned can be displayed in list format. Lists can be sorted by title, distance to pin, category, and registration date.
・Backup function
You can make backup files for maps that you have created.
・Share maps
Maps that you have created can be shared with other iPhones/iPads. You can share data using the iTunes or Dropbox.
・Linkage of external functions
Phone, e-mail, browser and Maps can be launched from pins.
・Display pin access information
Access information can be displayed. Access methods can be selected for access on foot, by train, or by car.

Nice, clean but this first version crashes if you select the metric units (km instead of miles). Unfortunately the support is offered only through Twetter and is only in Japanese so I could not tell the author that his application has a bug! I hope that he/she will read this review and shall publish a patched version soon!
Theres not any instructions on how to add icons to the map, etc... I cant figure it out
Nice to have the map view if you are interested in an urban environment but I need to see the satellite view for the wilderness area so I can create maps before I set out.
This app is just what I am searching for, as Id need to book mark multiple store locations and categorize them , but it still lacks some of the basic functions. What needs to be done: 1. When searching for bookmarked locations it needs to show subtitle or more info, otherwise its hard to find a specific bookmarked location if you have multiple bookmarked locations with the same name 2. Need to be able to pin multiple or selected locations within a contact 3. When dropping a pin on the map the address info should appear accordingly 4. when changing the address info of a pinned location the pin should relocate to the correct address 5. Be able to add custom fields in info 6. Be able to add bookmarked locations to contacts Will give 4-5 stars if all these functions are added, until then only deserves 2.
This is exactly what I have been looking for. This app would be greatly improved if it would let you add sub-filters to further categorize your locations. Some categorizes can be open to the user to write in what they want but other filters should be date and a set user define list of items to pick from.
